Hi there. I recently purchased a new notebook, a Gateway MX6424 :gateway: for $1000.00 and I was wondering if it could handle World of Warcraft and Call of Duty 2.
MX6424 Notebook Specifications

Operates at 1.8 GHz | 512 KB L2 Cache
Screen 15.4-inch Widescreen Ultrabright TFT WXGA
Chipset ATI RS482M

Did I get a good deal for the amount I spent? My main concern really is the video card, which only has 64 mb. Will I have any overheating issues if I do play games such as WoW and CoD2 and if so, should I purchase a cooling pad?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm rather new to the hardware scene.

It should have no problems with World of Warcraft, especially with the 1 GB of RAM. It will have problems running CoD2 in DirectX 9 mode, but it will be fine in DirectX 7 mode.
Overall, it will play both games fine if you aren't after max graphics in CoD2.
It will have no problems with cooling btw, and that is a very good price for such a notebook PC (compared with the prices in UK). -

Agreed - WoW shouldn't be a problem. That is a pretty easy game to handle.
You will definitely have to run CoD 2 under DX7 to get playable performance . .
Remember - since your card is integrated and uses shared memory, keep the textures down to minimize the amount of video memory it needs. Same goes for the resolution.
Can my notebook handle WoW and CoD2?
