    You can ask here.

I don't think it will run it. Empire Total War is pretty demanding.

i played the demo on the latop in my sig which has slightly higher specs than yours. i was playing it on medium but there was quite a bit of lag but with lower settings it might play but you can expect smooth gameplay. it is a very CPU intensive game and even some high end dual cores struggle with it at higher settings

I think Naval battles especially will cripple your system... you might be able to get through land battles... albiet sluggishly.

Short answer is no. I can barely run the game with everything on low with my 8600M-GT.

Idea! Download the demo on your laptop and see how well it plays ;)

    I believe steam has it.

Did anybody with ATI cards run this game? Because I'm going to probably get X2 4870's in a M17x R2. But I'm not sure if those ATI's will run it. I had SLI 260m's (which did it beautifully) but my old M17x is stolen. Please react if somebody run this game proper with ATI card(s).

    Thanks in advance.

I run it at medium/high settings. Water was set to high. Everything else medium, shadows lowest. I get the occasional slow down when there is a lot on screen due to my cpu but other then that it runs good

Seems that it's save to go with ATI. Hopefully an i7-720/820 CPU and 4870GPU will run it smooth! :)

    Thanks, great help! +rep!
