Based on the 5738z schematic, the IGP isn't electrically connected to the LCD so there's no use enabling the IGP.

Thanks for answer but is not so... you can to see green line from cantiga to lcd...
And Mine is Acer 5738zg not 5738z, is different: 5738z has intel igp graphics anyway according with their user guide.
Anyway my model is the newest with hd5650 soldered on the mobo but with gm45 too

5738zg & 5738z share same schematic. There is no way you can enabled the IGP on 5738zg. The green line you referred to is only available IF the discrete GPU is not implemented on systemboard, like 5738z have. That is the reason why it marked with different color. Of course GM45 is there because it is a chipset which is a vital component to provide memory (DDR2, DDR3) support, system bus support, etc. IGP is just an additional component in GM45 chipset. There is no multiplexer/switch is implemented on systemboard to utilize dual-GPU. Basically, IGP is not implemented on 5738ZG.

No, both do not work on the same system. If there is a discrete GPU installed then the integrated one is not connected.

    like this ...
but, based on schematic ... i look at page 18, there is connection diagram from VGA to LVDS connector.
As look here, LVDS connector is connected to VGA through RN22, RN24, RN58, RN59.

and above is RN15, RN18, RN60, RN61 is line to IGP .... but as stated by nando4, this not electrically connected.

so if you find it on motherboard, you just located RN22, RN24, RN58, RN59 that is connected to. And RN15, RN18, RN60, RN61 is only circuit track, no one components is soldered here.

So, if you need to change graphic card to IGP ... just removed (component that are soldered on) RN22, RN24, RN58, RN59, then place it on RN15, RN18, RN60, RN61 PCB track.

and some components need to add or replace for this project

    look here for diagram :
