If it's not offered, you can't upgrade.
The dv4000 and the V4000T are the same, yes. However, they are both being replaced by the dv5000t and the V5000T series. -
i don't know why they say it's upgradable to 128mb of dedicated memory.can an integrated card have dedicated memory?
very confused... -

You can allocate system memory to act as Video Memory. You can set that in the bios. It is not nearly as good as getting an actual card with dedicated memory on it.

Actually with the GMA900 it's dynamically allocated, so the card will take memory as it needs.
The only integrated card I have seen with dedicated memory is the Radeon Xpress 200M. Most laptops that have the X200M have shared memory only. -
if theres no upgrade available then where is everyone getting their dv4000 w/ x700 from?
is there a notebook in the same price range w/ x700 128mb dedicated memory?
any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated -

They stopped offering the upgrade a couple of weeks ago - as I said, HP is discontinuing the dv4000; the dv5000t is its replacement. I assume that once they ran out of stock of the X700, they stopped offering it rather than ordering more.
Take a look at the dv5000t. -
i'll do that
thanks
