I had a G73 during beta and when game was first released.
The game has been optimized since then but imo you can play pve @ lower resolution and lower quality. If I remember
correctly I would run 1600x900 @ low settings and get around 20-30fps in pve as long as the map wasnt too full. For events
though it was pretty bad.
Wvw was unplayable often in the low teens and even single digits when any action really happened.
Didnt really play pvp back then so not sure what that would be like. -
You might want to avoid mass pvp. Other than that, it should do fine at decent settings.

some OC of the GPU would help

especially if the game is properly multi-threaded

As far as gaming is concerned, titles such as GW2 that are bottlenecked by MHz rather than core count will definitely run faster on a higher-clocked i5 than a lower-clocked i7. The first-gen i7 had to sacrifice clock speed for core count compared to the i5, but nowadays we have the best of both worlds, with the i7 having double the cores while maintaining clock speeds as high as if not higher than the i5.
Can the Asus G73JH-A1 handle Guild Wars 2?
