Hi guys!
I was just wondering if the GPU therm reading can be wrong or is it always ok? the thing is that I have a gtx 580m and when I reinstalled windows I got on average 10°C less. Before the Windows re-install I was having 96°C on 99% GPU usage. Now, I am having about 83°C on 99% Usage
I am using several software to test this, EVGA Precision, HWmonitor, Thermspy and they all give the same reading. Is this reading always correct? Thank you![]()

Drivers and settings have always had a large affect on operating temperature. I'm not sure what your setup was before, but I wouldn't be surprised if things go down by 10* from a different driver.

I can't think of something that would cause that difference. But, is it safe to say that this new reading is accurate? -
Reinstalling your OS and drivers would not be able to cause the thermal sensors to malfunction.
For whatever mysterious reason, it's running cooler now. Just enjoy it. -
I actually have the same laptop as you do, only that I have a gtx 580m.
Thanks a lot
Can the GPU therm reading be wrong?
