Can the intel GMA950 play WoW, even on lowest settings, or even this here:
64MB Video Card with DirectX 9 compatible drivers ("GeForce3" or better)

If not, what about this video processor here. I've never heard of it:
    Integrated Graphics
S3 UnitChrome Pro Integrated Graphics processor
    64MB Shared

Can both of them run WoW and that other video card I mentioned?

wait. are you asking about 2 video cards and one game?

or two video cards and two games?

the 950 will most certainly at least run WoW. if you play with the settings im sure you can get acceptable performance out of it.

the s3 card, i have my doubts. i had an old s3 in my laptop. it depends on the specs of the card, but i doubt it could run WoW.

The S3 IGP is definitely not recommended for running Wow. I'd highly recommend you get the GMA, however, there are better cards out there at very low price points (ATI 1150, nVidia 6150). If playing Wow is a concern, I'd suggest you post a FAQ in the What Notebook Should I Buy forum, as you do have better options besides the GMA950.

    Yeah I can't afford anything above $500 :(

What about the intel GMA900, can that one run WoW?

even if your price point is literally 500, you have a few better choices. you can elect to get integrated graphics from ati / nvidia, which are still not optimal, but better than intel's offering.

Maybe, maybe not. I've not personally tried it. I know it's predecessor, the 855GM can't run WoW, but I've never tried with the GMA950.

However, both the Compaq V6000z and the Dell Vostro 1000 can be had new for under $500, and both have a superior graphics card to the GMA950.

WoW!! I've never even heard of the Vostro.
    And it's only 450!!

Do you think I can find a cheaper laptop with a video card that can run WoW?
Aside from the integrated intel stuff.
    The Vostro comes with
    VIDEO CARD ATI Radeon® Xpress 1150 256MB HyperMemory™ (integrated).

I think that's about as cheap as you can go for a new laptop with that kind of graphics card. You might be able to go slightly cheaper with a Compaq C500T (GMA950) with the APP discount.

Thanks anyways, that vostros is still cheaper and comes with a better video card.

If only they didn't have big screens on the vostros :( 15inch. I never had a 15inch laptop before, I hope it's still light and easy to move around with.

A GMA 900 can definately run WoW, I've been using one for a while, you can actually push the graphics surprisingly high, which says more about Blizzards coding skill than my crappy laptop.

My Acer laptop cost me NZD $700 (New) one year ago... I'm sure you should be able to get something better from them by now... perhaps an old ATI X1400 or something?

just be aware that even the ati / nvidia integrated parts are going to be really bad in general for gaming. if you have a low budget you should really consider getting a refurbished x1400/ go 7400 laptop.

at least those will properly run games at low settings.

however, if your intention is ONLY to play WoW, then you are on the right track staying away from intel. but even for WoW, there is going to be a big difference in the quality of the game going from any integrated card to something like a go 7400/ x1400. BIG difference.

I know Intel GMA950 can play WoW because I played it once... Well, it was a desktop with and Intel integrated card... I turned the VRAM to 228MB I think...
