    Right now I have an old desktop, and am wondering how it can compete with the m1330.

    Desktop specs:
    AMD Athlon 3200+
    1GB DDR
    6600GT 128mb AGP

    m1330 specs (the configuration I would buy)
    Core 2 Duo 2.0ghz
    2GB DDR2
    8400gs 128mb

    Thanks in advance.

    I would say...yes.
    Processor= Dual core + new technology. Big improvement
    RAM= Very good. =D
    GPU= Direct 10 compatible. It also has new technology to go with it. Not sure how it will compare to the 66ooGT in terms of raw power.

    In general...if you are looking for a improvement...you will be very happy...in more ways then one.

    itll definitely play games faster. probably a lot faster and smoother.

    your gpu is probably similar in power to your desktop card, but you have 2 gigs of ram going now. that means less accessing the hdd in game (never- outside of loading screens) which will eliminate stuttering and increase your general frame rate too. i would say your fps might increase somewhat ingame, but the consistency will be much higher.

    obviously everything outside of gaming (not using the gpu) will be much faster as well.
