It is a IBM ThinkPad with a Pentium M processor 1.2 GHz, 504MB of RAM, and a Intel Extreme Graphics Card 2 (Mobile)... Can this run WoW smoothly?
-
i think not.

Nope

Not at all? Here is the link for more info on it, http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-x40-2386/4505-3121_7-30733357.htmlhttp://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/lenovo-thinkpad-x40-2386/4505-3121_7-30733357.html

Have hope.
I once installed WoW and WoW burning crusade on my old old lappy
Pentium M 1.4Ghz
384MB of ram - the graphics
20GB 4200RPM harddrive
855GM graphics (which is two generations before your graphics controller)
now
On the low end settings with 800 X 600
WoW= around 16-19 fps outdoors
Burning crusade= around 12-15 fps outdoors (Hey, it was still darn "playable" might not be the best machine to play on but if you are desperate... =) here ya go) -
I doubt it. That thing barely has enough space to install the game, let alone the power to play it without massive lag, if it can run it at all.
-
I meant to say 384 minus the graphics (cause mine is a integrated solution)
-
-
I had 800MB left after burning crusades and patches lol (well, windows XP and microsoft office, and few other stuff but I had noting else)
-
-
It is actually my moms but I need it to play WoW since my desktop broke, i will be buying a Dell Vostro 1500 hopefully soon (doubtful), i have this laptop or an eMac with absolutly nothing on it...
-
-
well, I'll say it again, this is my old lappy that I don't use anymore but my 11 yr old brother, and he (the guy who started this thread) asked can he run wow on his machine. so I told him yea, you could
-
I don't want to load WoW for an hour to find out it won't run it at all... My eMac ran it and it had an intergreated graphics card and only 256MB RAM...
-
it should "run".... but it will be very damn difficult to play if at all possible. You will get lags, FPS drops and it will ruin the gameplay for you. Hardly worth the trouble.
-
So why aren't you running it on the eMac?
-
The laptop would be a lot more convenient...
eMac:
-1.24GHz processor, 256MB Ram, and a Radeon 7500 or 9200 graphic card.
IBM ThinkPad:
-1.20GHz, 512MB Ram, and a Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Mobile -
If this laptop can run better than 5 framerate then its perfect til i get my vostro!
-
Under 20 fps in Wow is still very playable, cities you might drop below 10, which will be very noticeable, but that just means it will take you longer to go places in a city, not a game ruining experience for you. On my lappy i generally have ~20 fps and its fine for me, but i don't drop once i get into the cities.
I say give it a shot, if it doesn't work then oh well...but if it does.
Can this old laptop run WoW?
