    Notebook w/ 17" WSXGA+ Glass View Display
    ATI Radeon 9700 128mb
    1024mb DDR 400 Ram (2x512)
    60Gb HD 7200rpm
    DVD+/-R/RW Drive
    Wireless Turbo G
TV Tuner, and 6-in-1 Card Reader

Graduation gift for me from my parents, I'm looking to get one that will be able to run pretty good games cleanly. Can get it for under 2500. Seems like it has everything pretty solid that should last atleast my college correct?

I'd say, yep. You won't be agble to run them at the max, but you can run them.
Farcry should run fine, so will HL2, Guild wars should be a breeze. But Doom 3 might struggle a little.

    What processor is in it?

You can easily handle the latest games. I have a similar setup with the exception of my video card (ATI 9600 128 mb). I can play CS:Source, HL2 and will manage 60+ fps when Battlefield 2 comes out within the month.

for under you can definetly get an XPS Gen 2 if you wait for a good coupon. Heck, I got my 9300 (see sig) for about $1500 and it has the 6800 go. I did buy the processor seperately though, the one i had in it when i bought it was the 1.6 ghz, Which does surprisingly well in games but i do a lot of video/audio encoding so i bought a diff processor and pinmodded it.
The 9300 would be something to look at if you need more battery life than the xps gen 2, but you only get the 6800 go and not the ultra. Both are extremely better than the ATI 9700 and gte laptop itself is probably lighter and smaller dimensions.

Heres a link to give a little comparison between graphics cards.

    1GB Dual Channel DDR2 at 533MHz
    256MB NVIDA® GeForce Go 6800
    80gb Hard Drive

If you're going to spend anywhere around $2k or more, I recommend canceling your order (the 17" monitor is fine, if you don't plan on moving it much), and get an Acer 8104 instead. You'll be able to do just as much, but that machine is much nicer imo.

Either way, enjoy your new notebook!
