Med-high settings at highest res
-
Warcraft 3: highest setting no problem
HL2, CS, BF2: lowest possible setting at low res -
Actually, HL2 and CSS Should run pretty well on medium settings and highest resolutions.
But for BF2, I'm pretty sure that would run on lowest. -
my uncles got pretty much those specs for his laptop and as far as I can remember his hl2 and css run well at about med settings.

thanks guys for the input.
will bf2 run at 800x600 medium settings and with the 1-2gb memory upgrade? i could work with that..wil be playing multiplayer.
how about quake 3, CoD2? -
That's a fairly dated system. Luckily the games you're looking to play are not too demanding. The newer games are going to be harder on the system, particularly BF2 and COD2. More RAM would help some.
If you don't mind me asking, how much are you paying for this laptop? -

BF2 ran pretty well on medium settings on my x600 which is essentially the same. Make sure you get the latest drivers and you should be good.
Remember the 9700 is more like the 9600 desktop and NOT the 9700 desktop. -
BF2 @ lowest because any higher I will just feed the enemy (which I always do) -

will the 1.5ghz suffice battlefield 2?
