Ok so I've got this HP Pavilion DV2615NR with 2GB DDR2, Amd Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2Ghz Running at 2.5Ghz and both the cpu and gpu hit 68*C or so under load. I modded the laptop case for airflow and re-did the thermal paste and put 100% copper shims on the cpu and gpu.

My objective is to shoot for above 560Mhz on the Core clock. Right now it's completely stable in game for hours at 560Mhz and 2.5Ghz. It's not stable at anything above 560Mhz core clock.

So, I need to over volt the chip. The 3d clock voltage is at 1.2V. I'd like to under-volt the 2d clock from 1.1V to 1.0V. Then I'd like to take the 3d voltage from 1.2V to 1.3V or so. I wanna try and push to 650Mhz Core Clock.

Please just tell me how to do what I want to do. Thank you.

bump! I'm sure this is easy stuff. I can't remember how to manipulate the VID for my 2d/ 3d clocks. thanks

You can't get higher than 1.2V, there's no 1.3V in the voltage table.
But you can easily lower the 2d to 1.05V or 1.0V.

How do I get more than 1.2v for 3d? And how do I get 1v or less in 2d?

    Thanks

Ok, so after tweaking around I managed to get 1.25V in 3d mode and 0.95V in 2d mode. So I saved the bios and now I can't flash it in dos using nvflash 5.095 or 5.100. When I type nvflash -4 -5 -6 modded.rom it says Nvidia firmware update utility (version 5.95) checking for matches between display adapter(s) and image(s)...

    Adapter: GeForce 7150M/ nForce 630M (10DE,0531,103C,30D6) H:--:NRM B:00,PCI,D:12,F:00

And that's it. So what's up with this?

    thanks

HAS ANYONE EVER FLASH THE BIOS ON MOBILE GPU BEFORE?

You're using a chipset so it's likely the bios is integrated into your system bios. Did you extract this bios using GPU-Z?

And yes, people have been modifying and flashing mobile GPU bioses for years.

I already told you, it's not possible to get a higher voltage. You only changed the label of the voltage setting, so monitoring software like GPU-Z display a different value, but there hasn't been any change to the voltage. You can easily verify this with testing your max stable clocks. It will be exactly the same as previously.

So if there's no chance of over volting at all period, right? How do I write a new bios file with different clocks? I can't get my 3d clock to stick for 1080p video playback. At 425Mhz it lags but at 550mhz or so it's smooth. Then it auto under clocks to default 425mhz after a few seconds. GPU is at 59*C and cpu is at 45*C. I wanna write a new bios file for better battery life in 2d and enhanced clocks at 550Mhz for 1080p and gaming...

    Thanks

Yeah I pulled the bios from gpu-z and opened the .bin in nibitor then saved the original in .rom form. I wanna just under volt my 100mhz 2d clocks and set my 3d clocks to 550mhz. I wish I could go higher... Need to overvolt though to get more core clock. I'm having difficult maintaining a 3d overclock while watching 1080p however in 3d games it'll maintain the 3d clock for a long time.

So it's 100% completely impossible to over volt this gpu? any other ways? there has to be another way? how do I even flash the bios on this? I pulled the bios via gpu-z. Usually if it's integrated in the system bios i can't pull the .bin via gpu-z like my core i7 gt 540m laptop.

Why do you even want to overclock/overvolt this terrible performing iGPU? As good as beating a dead horse IMHO.

Because decoding 1080p at 425mhz it can only pull off 15fps. At 550Mhz it can playback smooth at 23.97fps...

You are doing it wrong. Just joking.

What this chip is meant for will never really be 1080p video playback. It was born in an era where 720p videos were still not mainstream.

You can overclock, but what you get is really what you will get. Overflowing is not really possible within your means and I feel you may want to get something better for your purpose in the coming months. ;)

I've got a couple laptops and 2 core i7 systems so I'm not worried about it I like tweaking on older systems to do cool new things otherwise known to be not possible.
