Okay so i just did a clean install of windows 7 today. But it said that windows saved a copy of my previous installation from windows.old.
There are several games that i had gotten off friends that i didnt finish before upgrading and the game files are still there which i can copy to my current program files folder, but windows will not detect them as installed games.
Is there any way of making windows detect them as installed games without installing them? I don't have the cd's for several games
Prince of persia/Fallout 3/RE5 etc.

You do have the option to hide a game, by visiting game explorer.Game saves arent games so they wont get detected unless the save is matched w/ a version of the installed game.

well, if you can get them from your friends again, you can reinstall them and migrate your save files, that's what i did (except i had the files on my D:\, didnt get em from a friend
).

I have all the save files/game files, all i want is them to be seen as installed games by windows. I don't think they are written in the registry is all.
Can you make windows detect games that only have game files
