there are no guarantees in this life.

that would be a pretty significant overclock, and without additional cooling and other precautions, you probably would not be successful in getting that kind of overclock and may end up damaging your hardware in the process.

Very doubtful. In theory maybe you could do it, with the right precautions, but why don't you set your goals a little closer to home (especially if you haven't done a lot of OCing in the past).

Yes u should be able to... its a matter of whether your laptop's cooling system can take the extra temperature...

Every GPU has a different overclocking limit because of how the parts are binned.
The HD 4330, 4530, and 4570 all use the same core, but the fabrication facility that makes the GPU core stress tests each core to see how stable it is. If it can't meet their requirements of stability at HD 4570 speeds, it'll be labelled an HD 4530. If it's not stable at HD 4530 speeds, it'll be an HD 4330.
It's just like how Intel Core Solo CPUs are just Core Duos with the second core permanently disabled due to instability.

That being said, their stability standards aren't equivalent to those for the end user. You might be able to reach HD 4530 speeds, but HD 4570 is almost a 50% overclock and thus damn near untouchable.

    HD 4330 Core - 450 MHz
    HD 4530 Core - 500 MHz (+11.1%)
    HD 4570 Core - 680 MHz (+51.1%)

    Is 50% too much?

Because I overclocked my old nvidia quadro nvs 130m (like 8400m G) 60% on the core and 50% mem.

Or do the ATi GPUs not overclock well?

No, from I understand, ATI GPU's clock better than NVIDIA...

That's how it was when it came to desktops anyway.

50% overclocks are starting to push the levels of "safe" on core and memory clocks - since Nvidia clocks their shaders separately and higher, 50%+ isn't so bad.
My own clocks are overclocked +31.5%core/+50%shaders/+18.8%memory.

For a long time. I wanted a Laptop with an ATI Mobility HD 4570 or 4650 but my Dad surprised me with a Dell Inspiron 15 with an ATI Mobility HD 4330. :(

I think I'm the most sad person ever. And no it can't be returned. I really want to play new games like MW2 but now all hopes are gone. We're not that rich so it'll take like 3-4 years again before I ask my Dad for a new Laptop. Or a Desktop I don't know.

Please can I play any new games released on 2009 ? Anyone has game benchmarks for this card or anything equal to this card ? I need help please..

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4330.13973.0.html

    Take a look there.

You'll be able to play some games on it, but dont expect high res or high details, MW2 will actually likely run because its not that demanding, but you'll be looking at 1024x768, perhaps 1280x1024, low-medium settings for a reasonable framerate.

Sounds like your Dad has bought either with budget in mind, or he's trying to stop you playing games :p rather than working!

You can overclock it to 4570 speed but what type of memory does it have? Oh its Inspiron so DDR2... well should be able to play MW2 but u won't max it... there are some benchmarks for it on this link... anyways u can return the laptop in the first 2-3 weeks.. if i were u , i'd do that and get a studio 15.
Link for Benchmark for 4330 and 4570 below.

    4330 : http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4330.13973.0.html

    About 2500-3300 3D Mark 06 score.

    4570: http://www.notebookcheck.net/AMD-ATI-Mobility-Radeon-HD-4570.13885.0.html

3000-4000 score... You should be able to OC 4330... but i would return the laptop and get a studio 15 at least.

    Cheers

You definitely can overclock it, I've done it before, just haven't bothered since I installed Windows 7. It'll play most games just fine on low / medium details, but high it will begin to severely struggle. I haven't got MW2, but it can definitely play MW1 just fine on medium res, low/medium details. Well enough to play the game anyway.

Yes, you can overclock to 4570 speeds, but it certainly isn't recommended. That's one massive overclock right there, and the 4330 probably won't even get there.

I never managed to get it to 4570 speeds, I think the highest I got the core speeds was 550MHz; can't remember about the memory, but I don't think it maybe budged by more than 50MHz before the machine would just lock up and reboot.

Odd considering they are both the same chip essentially.

Be happy that you got it bought for you is what I say; I remember being slightly disappointed when handed down my first 80186 desktop, but you know, it did the job. I dare say my old 80186 wouldn't play MW2 though, heck it didn't even have a HDD to install the game to, and it would have needed to be on 5 1/4" floppies..... :)

my friend bought a new inspiron 15 with a core 2 duo and hd 4330 last month, we both ran passmark at exactly the same time and when it came to the 3d graphics section the framerates were almost exactly the same!
I have an 8600mGT. I was quite surprised I thought the 4330 would of taken the lead by alot but I guess it could be alot worse!

edit: If I remember correctly his specs were

    t6600
    4gigs ddr3
    hd4330

    mine:
    t5550
    3gigs ddr2
    8600mGT

I have the Dell Inspiron 15 aswell and the specs are..

    Core 2 Duo T6600 2.20 GHZ
    4 GB RAM
ATI Mobility HD 4330 512 MB
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Do you think it can run games from 2005-2009 on low-medium settings ?

LOL! yeah you bought the exact same one as my friend.

well he was playing World in Conflict that was released in 07 but I don't think it requires very high specs.

If I was you I would really look into overclocking like moral hazard said.

and also I would google the name of the game you want to play and the name of your graphics card because often someone has already asked if its playable

edit: here is a quote from http://optimitza.cat/news/2009/05/13/ati-mobility-radeon-hd-4330-performs-very-well-for-an-entry-level-card/

Please, for the sake of technology, post the "Can I Run It" in the sticky. And also, don't crosspost as it is a against the forum rules.

How many topics about the 4330 and games have you made now Sadguy?

Bottom line, it's a low end card, and most modern games will have to run at low - medium settings, without AA. Older games will run alright, particularly Source games, but you really should have opted for the 4570 if you like gaming.

You can run all these games with decent FPS but I don't recommend Dragon Age - Origins because it will pump up ur temps like insane....

As for your overclocking I managed to get 800/800/900 core/shader/mem. on my 4570 with no temp. increase because in a matter of fact my 4570 runs 84-90 average while stressed .... So I think you can reach the core speed of the 4570 but you won't go as much with the memory because the memory overclockability of the 4000 series sucks

My 4330 stocks at 400MHz, 500MHz. With the AMD GPU Clock Tool v0.9.26.0 I've been able to OC the card to 500MHz, 650MHz with relative stability. Temperatures were around 85C, so if my laptop has better cooling I might be able to push it further.

My card has DDR2 RAM, so I would expect other cards with DDR3 to have better memory speed.

Ran through Furmark at 800x480, displacement mapping and post-processing, no AA. Averages out around 16 FPS (for me).

Most ATI cards will throttle back at 105 degrees, and turn off at 115. If you don't mind the extra heat inside your computer, running it as hot as 90 is about what a gaming notebook would do - even as high as 95 wouldn't be too crazy. The dell 1557/1558s run at 95-100 with a 4570.
