    I'm hoping somebody can help me. I have tried a ton of different ways to get DirectX to install, but for some reason I can't get it to work.
    My laptop is an ASUS ul80vt. It only has one set of video drivers, so I guess they're up-to-date. I didn't have any problems with DirectX before. This has only occurred since I installed my SSD and re-installed my OS (Windows 7). Here is the error log from DirectX:

    [10/03/10 07:34:14] module: dxupdate(Sep 4 2009), file: dxupdate.cpp, line: 5848, function: DirectXUpdateInstallPlugIn

    RegisterDllFromSection() failed.

    --------------------
    [10/03/10 07:34:14] module: dsetup32(Sep 4 2009), file: dxupdate.cpp, line: 280, function: CSetup::InstallPlugIn

    DirectXUpdateInstallPlugIn() failed.

    --------------------
    [10/03/10 07:34:14] module: dsetup32(Sep 4 2009), file: setup.cpp, line: 1701, function: CSetup::SetupForDirectX

    InstallPlugIn() failed.

    Did you make sure to right click and run it as an administrator?
