I know the game won't look great on an integrated card, but I want to see if it's playable.

    My system:

    4gb RAM
    Intel 4500MHD
    Intel p8600

I've googled and searched and googled some more and have tried all different kinds of launch options and I can't get the game to get past the initial loading screen. The guy with the valve on his head shows up, then the splash with the Medic and [Loading...] shows up... then sometimes the game minimizes and won't unminimize, or the game just goes to a black screen... or any number of problems.

I know people have gotten the game to run before on even the 3100 intel graphics.

    Any ideas?

Do you legally own the game?

Yeah, I bought Orange Box through Steam. It runs fine on my desktop, I've been playing the game for a year now.

I downloaded the driver from Intel's site, and they said "This driver is not validated for this machine." I can't seem to find the driver on Sony's site (I have a Vaio SR190).

[edit] UPDATE: I had to first uninstall the graphics drivers then I could install the generic Intel ones. It still wouldn't start properly, but I tried -windowed, and now the game loads up fine. Go figure. ;) No idea why full screen doesn't work.

Played some 2fort for a while... not bad at all. :)

I only asked because this is common of pirated games. What resolution are you trying to play the game at? Maybe it is set to high?

Steam games are pretty hard to pirate for online play since it validates your steam logon every 5 minutes or so.

I have the same problem with my X200 which also has a 4500mhd. I got it to open by using -window but when i tried to switch to full screen from in game...the screen gets whack and buttons appear higher than they really are and theres this flashing border....CSS does not have this problem.

I'm guessing this was also why i couldnt boot up portal, but I've read elsewhere of people playing portal on a X200 with 4500mhd. strange

Maybe they're using some modified Intel drivers like people did with the 450gm chipset.
