Everytime i try to install the game , i ask it to install in D: drive since in C: there's no space, it keeps telling me theres no space in C: drive (WELL DUH , i asked it to choose D: drive for that reason) , then it brings me to another screen that says No disk space , i select D: drive and click next , then i get this stupid error :

    Feature Transfer Error
Error: -1603 Fatal Error during installation.

Consult Windows Installer help (msi.chm) ... ect ...

I bought a game that i can't even install. I could of install on XP before but the menu was bugged , no characters showed then i formatted my computer all for THIS GAME , then on VISTA , i can't even freaking install it. Please help me anyone!!! Thanks for reading.

Try installing while your computer is in safe mode. Its a long shot and I've heard of this problem before and the main solution is just return it and get a new disc.

Hey. I just bought the game, and I had the same error. Through going to Microsoft Customer Support, I figured it out.

Gears of War isn't programmed to create folders. Since you partitioned D as a seperate drive, you probaly only have D:\Program Files. If not, MAKE IT. Set it to install to " D:\Program Files ", do NOT make it D:\Program Files\Gears of War or anything like that.

Also, he may have helped by going to More Options. Through Easy Assist he did it. If that stuff doesn't work, call them up. They can be quite helpful.

Always have a few gigs free on your C drive. Installers suck like that.

Never fill out C: you need at least 15% free on it... just move your mp3 avi and porn movie on D: for now...

And also make sure your Windows Installer is up to date (I remember 3.0 being the last version?)
