I go into internet games, get llist of servers, I highlight the game I want to join, hit the join game button and nothing happens. It just makes the same noise it makes whenever you hit a menu button.
I turned off norton internet security and windows firewall and this didn't do anything.
Anyone have any ideas?

Do you have the latest patches for the game?
If you do and it still has issues: Uninstall, run CCleaner to remove registry entries, then reinstall.
Edit: Patch right here http://www.microsoft.com/games/pc/halo.aspx#downloads -
I have the patch that it automatically installs before you go into the server list menu. I think that I had the same problem with the game when I installed it about a year ago before I last reformated. I just gave up and played Halo2 on xbox, but now I kinda feel like revisiting halo classic.
Do the server port and client port have to be the same thing? What should they be set at? Back when I had it installed on my old gateway, I had a problem connecting that was solved by setting the client ports to a different number that some kid on the ign halo forums gave me. can't remember what it was.
Edit: I just tried setting the server and client ports so that they are both 2303. Now if I click join game, it goes to the connecting to game screen, then says retrying server, and then tells me that it was unable to connect.
Can't join games in Halo PC, plz help
