    Hi,

i've this Alienware Notebook since a few Days.
It has 2 8700GT on SLI with Vista Ultimate 32 Bit.

Every time when i try to start a 3D Game it crashes or freezes right at the first Screen.
I tried the SLI Guide in this forum, new Drivers and so on.
    It doesn't change anything.
As long as i am in the Game Menu everything is fine.

But right after i try to play nothing works. Sometimes the sound stutters or the screen starts flickering. Some times i've got a Bluescreen.
This happens with the Alienware drivers or modified Nvidia ones.
I tried with or without SLI enabled. No changes.

The games i've testet are: Crysis, COD4 and Assassins Creed.

As i have no experience with Notebooks i am out of ideas.

Maybe someone here has some hints for me.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards
    Michael

if its still new, drop the stress and have it exchanged...this is perhaps occuring due to a hardware malfunctioning.

yep i agree with luke1708. alienware costs a pretty penny, and with a machine like that it d*mn well better be able to play them games. alienware is an offshoot of dell, who have superb customer service. have them fix it because that's too much money down to just let it sit.

It sounds like a hardware issue for sure. Call in to TS and see what they say. They may ship you out some new vc's or ask you to send it back for repair.

@Trumpet - Dell does not control AW... There is actually a huge thread outlining what Dell controls :)
