I'm trying to play FPS shooters etc, and I want to lock my FPS at 120hz, but some reason I can't.

Is there actual drivers for the Monitor on the g75? I have the latest Nvidia drivers for this laptop, but I go into properties and try to set to 120hz, and it is not letting me. I have the 670m nvidia graphic card as well.

When I go to monitor type or whatever, its just using a generic pnp driver I guess for the monitor and refresh only locks at 60hz... I really want 120hz at all times for everything...

i don't care about playing in 3d so much, i just care that I have 120hz.

    120hz 3d is not a full 120hz panel, it will be still a 60hz.
120hz mode kicks in when using 3dvision because the monitor will be split in 2 section, each rendering at 60hz.
That means each section will render at 60hz @ 720p = 120hz total.
You need a native 120hz panel, not 3d, to achieve such refresh rate.
Get an external screen with such refresh rate, there's plenty.

That sucks because I want to travel with my laptop and game, not just carry around a 120hz screen with me as well....

Really sucky for a gamer on the go...

3d is hugely overrated in laptops, especially for a 670m. you will have to tone down your graphical setting significantly to get good FPS

Yah I don't care about the 3d gaming tho like I said, I just want 120hz. When I use 120hz (3d screen) from samsung, I can also set the the hertz on normal mode to 120hz. I just wonder if there is a real driver for the monitor that might allow it to goto 120hz. ----- On another note, the new Macbook Pro has 120hz screen and plays some games like QuakeLive with np in 120hz mode. I just really wish this G75V Laptop would do the same... I

Is there drivers for this monitor???

So I figured out a solution...

Create custom resolution with 120hz selected and it'll work!!@!

AWesome, but drivers still buggy... Screen not perfect.
