    Hello,
I have the MSI GT60 Dominator-424 with the Nvidia Geforce 870m. Today I was playing The Stomping Land with around 40 fps and then changed to Arma 2 OA but only had 15 fps max. Usually I would be getting around 35-45 fps for Arma 2 OA and the DayZ Mod. I'm guessing that the Intel HD Graphics are being used for this low of frames unless the nvidia graphics card is broken. Can anyone help me figure out why the drop happens and how to fix it. Payday 2 however runs over 100 fps.
p.s. i went into the nvidia control panel and switched arma 2 oa to the nvidia graphics card but no change happened.

right click the desktop..go to the nvidia control panel...go to 3d settings...on top of the page make sure that either "auto" is selected, or the "high performance nvidia card" option is selected for the preferred graphics card

I tried that and it didn't do anything. I went to program settings and made sure arma 2 oa and arma 2 are both on the nvidia graphics card. And how many fps should i get in skyrim for medium settings?

Steam? Try browsing to the directory the game is installed in (steamapps/common) in the steam directory usually. And right click the .exe for the game and select "run on high perf nvidia" or something to that effect. I've had the steam launcher block some settings in the past, though the nv software should still detect the .exe .. executing.. Sorry for any inaccuracies i'm on my phone not at the laptop.

Reinstall drivers/update drivers and choose the option for "clean installation" and it should reset everything in your nVidia control panel.
