I have an Actius RD10 with 512mb RAM, Pentium 4 2.8ghz, and a GeForce 4 420 Go 32MB. Here is my problem; whenever I enter to play a game, be it World of Warcraft or Warcraft 3 this same thing happens. My computers screen will turn its colors very high contrasted shades of white, red, blue, and green though the games video will remain intact. So I can actually play the game but it looks horrible and crazy. I cannot think of anyway else to explain this. It only happens when I run DirectX games. I could use my computer all day just surfing the web, using itunes, ripping cd's, and watching a DVD and nothing will happen. Though when I go to play a game the screen will turn the weird colors. When I exit the game the colors will remain messed up until I restart my machine. Anyone have a clue what this could be? I have tried updating my video driver to every Nvidia driver under the sun, but to know avail I have not had any success.

Ok, this is weird. I went to the login screen at WoW and took a screen hot in hopes of showing you guys my problem. When I went to look at my screenshot it looks completely normal, my colors and everything look how they should. Another note, I just tried to play Warcraft 3 and everything looked normal as well. All my colors were shown as intended. This is just friggin moronic. Like, what the hell.

Normally I would say it is some sort of heat related issue....except that usually gets caught on screenshots. So I'm not sure what to tell you. You might want to find some OpenGL game, and see if that has the same issue, maybe somehow your laptop just doesn't like DirectX.
Also, check the temps just in case.
Cannot play any games on my old Actius RD10
