Ok just recently purchased a brand new lap top!

    Specs:

    Windows Vista Home Premium
    TOSHIBA Notebook
    Intel (R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz
    2046 MB ram
    32 - bit Operating System!
    200GB HD

Ok my video Card is the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600

I installed Age of Empires 1, Age of empires 1 expansion Rise of rome and also Age of Empires 2 age of kings and conquours.

Installation was complete on all games.
Go to open it and this error appears every time

"Could Not Initialize graphic system. Make sure that your video card is compatible with direct draw"

i thought it was something to do with vista so i tryed playing the game on my cousins laptop. Her graphics card is the Radeon Xpress 1150 and it works perfectly.

I have rang a heap of people, tryed SOOOO many things and nothing works.
PLEASE would anyone give me any tips on fixing this problem?????
    Is it Fixable????

    Cheers ppl :)

you might need to run in xp compatibility mode. make sure the games are all patched. otherwise, i don't have enough experience with vista, but i hope that helps.

Oh, you might also want to try going to the ATI site and downloading the latest drivers for the 2xxx/3xxx series and mod them with the mobility modder to install:

There should be an option to disable it somewhere...possibly a drop down menu? I use XP so I dont know much about Vista.

Edit: That link was to a Vista users forum so Im guessing that guys solution should work for Vista.
