    Cant install driver for the X3100...

    Hello,
    I own a Dell inspiron 1525 and i also want to play CSS. The main problem is that i only get 10 fps with the same settings that were posted up here. So i updated my driver from dell and i dont see any difference. I tried the driver from intel but it says that it cannot detect the right hardware... so am i doing something wrong?
    (I tried the driver from the GL965 and PL965)

    Add to the launch options -console -dxlevel 70. In DirectX 7.0 mode I get on dust/dust2 with 10 players/bots 50-60fps(never goes below 40fps).

    This happened to me once, I solved the problem with uninstall and complete cleanup of the driver leftovers..

    Thnx for ur advice but steam doesnt allow me to pay dx7 online with css. So i tried dx8 but i dont see any difference in fps or graphics....

    How come? I have no problems with playing online in dxlevel 70 mode..

    I just set some commands in the launch options. Rightclick on CS:S in Steam menu, select properties. Click on "Set Launch Options.." Copy/Paste this:

    -dxlevel 70 -width 1280 -height 800 -console -noforcemspd -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel

    The last three commands are mouse related, don't put them if you don't want to.

    I still play it with 8 - 16 fps...

    I play CSS with average 30 FPS with the laptop in my sig with details on medium in DX 8.1 mode. SOme maps are however quite unplayable though like Militia and assualt but on Dust2 for example i have average 30 FPS with those settings.

    have you set vista to basic or or standard,i know when i first tried to play quake 3 arena i was getn very bad fps once i turn off aero it was smooth.
