    I just ordered a xps 1530
it came with a 8600gt with ddr3 memory
The first thing i jumped to was updating the video driver to the lastest version 169.25
encountered a problem during the installation that said: cant find the appropriate hardware for this update

    wierd...
anyone ever run into anything like this? How do i get the information on my video card from the computer. And how do you think I'll do without updating the video driver ever?

did you replace the original .INF with the modded .INF? www.laptopvideo2go.com has both. nVidias default desktop drivers dont support laptops w/o that INF

go to laptopvideo2go.com, go to Drivers, then chose which OS you have and which driver you want. On the page it links you to when you select the driver it has a download for the driver itself, and the "Modded INF" file. after you extract the driver, just drop the modded INF into the folder, and let it replace the old one. Then just install the driver.
