    Cant open console in oblivion

    First make sure the line in the .ini called "benableconsole=0" is set to 1 instead of 0.

    If it is already at 1, you can try this mod.

    From what I've read, games based on this engine (namely, Oblivion and Fallout 3) will not be able to open the console if your computer has certain input device drivers installed, primarily infrared remote controls. If you have anything like that, uninstall the driver. I had the same issue with Fallout 3 on my last laptop, and that fixed it.

    Yeah I had this problem with the infrared with Crysis console on my Clevo M571RU. I had to disable the infrared from device manager to get it to work.

    It really is a strange issue.
