I thought in doing a table that would show cards vs games vs quality of game play.
If you guys send me your data we can complete it together, and it would be a good source of information, a bit relative, but more tangible than those 3D marks.
I thought not doing it too complex, may be just showing: Card type (plus dedicated MB), RAM, Game, Resolution, Effects (Aprox, may be majority of them), Anti-aliasing, FPS (aprox. average).
Any recommendation is welcomed, although lets keep it simple.
This is the ongoing table (Feel free to send cards/games that are already mentioned):

Some thoughts before I post. Sorry, but I'm like that
I know you wanted simple, so indulge me
You don't take into account clock level of cards. Mine is 425/378 X1600 256mb stock speeds, which is actually below the default for X1600.
..............................................
Card -- RAM -- Game -- Resolution -- Effects -- AA -- FPS
X1600 --1.5----F.E.A.R.--1280x800----High-----4x----39
Edit: changed. Messed around with lighting, shadow and texture detail settingsLast edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Ok, lets add between brackets the memory of the card (that also says some about the version). May be adding the clock level would make it a bit too complex, besides, there will be more than one data per game per card, so we will see that range, and you can also PM the author of the data to ask details.
I thought about the shadows, but in order to keep it simple, lets consider what are your settings in general, so if only the shadows are low, just put the effects High or Mid, your criteria. Thanks. -
Wow, the X1600 is popular
512MB X1600 - 1GB - Counter Strike: Source - 1280x800 - max effects - 8x - 50fps
512MB X1600 - 1GB - Call of Duty 2 - 1152x864 - high effects - 4x - 45fps
512MB X1600 - 1GB - Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne - 1280x800 - max effects - 4x - 55fps -
Sorry, I guess you mean 256 MB dedicated right?
-
You have mixed AF (=Anisotropic filtering) and AA (=Antialiasing). They are two totally different things. Fix your information. I added the AF level on my information.
Card (MB) -- RAM -- Game -- Resolution -- Effects -- AA -- AF -- FPS
X1800 (256) -- 1GB -- F.E.A.R. -- 1440x900 -- High -- 2x -- 8x -- 37
X1800 (256) -- 1GB -- ES4: Oblivion -- 1440x900 -- Medium/High -- Off -- 8x -- ~30
X1800 (256) -- 1GB -- Company of Heroes -- 1440x900 -- High -- Off -- 16x -- 32 -
AA = Antialiasing
-
Do I? No no, I never meant to incorporate AF, it was always AA. I PM the people that might have made the mistake. Thanks.

Well.. there's no option for 8x FSAA in F.E.A.R. There's only 2x and 4x FSAA options. Actually there's no such thing in the graphics card options either (in Catalyst Control Center or Ati Tray Tools), 6x is maximum in there for the AA. And actually even the ATI desktop flagship card, the Radeon X1950 can't do 8xAA, so 6x is absolute maximum for all ATI cards. Only card that comes in to mind that can handle such a thing is the Nvidia flagship desktop GPU Geforce 8800 gtx/gts which can do even 16x AA
-
Yeah, sorry about that. Got confused by the obscure naming scheme in the game settings, not so much the difference from a and b. Had to go on tweakguides to double-check what the game means

First off, the Go6800*:
Card (MB) ------ RAM -- Game ---- Resolution --- Effects --- AA ---AF--- FPS
Go6800 (256) --- 2 ---- F.E.A.R. -- 1440x900 ----- High ----- 2x -- 2x -- 32
Go6800 (256) --- 2 ---- Doom 3 --- 1440x900 ----- Ultra ---- 4x -- 8x -- 54
Go6800 (256) --- 2 -- CS:Source - 1440x900 ----- Max ------ 4x - 16x -- 76
*With a 360/750 overclock; since I almost never used it without this (obviously perfectly safe) overclock, I don't have scores from stock.
Next up, the amazing *cough* RADEON x200M:
Card (MB) ------ RAM -- Game ---- Resolution --- Effects --- AA ---AF--- FPS
x200M (128) ---- 1 ---- F.E.A.R. -- 1280x768 ----- Min** --- 0x -- 0x -- 40
x200M (128) ---- 1 ---- Doom 3 --- 640x480 ------ Min*** - 0x -- 0x -- 28
x200M (128) ---- 1 -- CS:Source -- 1280x768 ----- Med* --- 0x - 0x -- 54
**Yes, including forced DirectX 8 mode, and although *shudder* pixel doubling was used to get the "40" fps number, it is nearly playable (~25fps average) without it.
***As of driver version 6.10, Doom 3 was almost totally unplayable, even with extensive tweaking.
*Forced DirectX 7 mode.
And I know this is about notebook cards, but some people might be interested nonetheless:
Card (MB) ------ RAM -- Game ---- Resolution --- Effects --- AA ---AF--- FPS
8800GTS (640) -- 2 ---- F.E.A.R. -- 1680x1050 ---- Max ----- 4x -- 16x -- 69
8800GTS (640) -- 2 ---- Oblivion -- 1680x1050 ---- Max ----- 8xQ - 16x -- 30
8800GTS (640) -- 2 -- CS:Source - 1680x1050 ---- Max ----- 16xQ - 16x -- 99
8800GTS (640) -- 2 ---- SupCom -- 1680x1050 ---- Max ----- 8x - 16x -- 60+
8800GTS (640) -- 2 ---- Doom 3 -- 1680x1050 ---- Max ----- 8x - 16x -- 63 -

Averages (stock/6.12):

X1400 - 1.5GB - S.T.A.L.K.E.R - 1280x800- maximum - static - n/a - n/a - 47fps
X1400 - 1.5GB - C&C 3 - 1280x800 - low/med - 2x - n/a - 26fps
X1400 - 1.5GB - Supreme Commander - 1280x800 - low - 0x - n/a - 24fps -
-
I only play zombie, that might be why =/. Most of those maps are poorly coded. I'm pretty sure I don't get 80-100 though on high in normal mode though.

Thanks, let's keep it generic though. If people is interested/surprised they'll ask. Keep posting!

Necss: for AA: n/a means that the game does not have that option? or that you are not using it?
Also, can you estimate which FPS you have most of the time? 25-60 is way too wide range.
Thanks. -
n/a meaning its not available
um the 25 fps is avg when ***med in to show more detailed players which is prob 20% of the time
i get round 60 when playing like kkicking the ball pasisng etcif you no what i mean?
so cant really avg coz its either 25ish or 60ish no in between lol -
I know what you mean, but I'll average it in the general list (just to keep it simple), if that's fine.
