Yay! Can I have the direct download please? I have Sony Vaio.

EDIT: Oh, never mind, I can download them directly from their website apparently. That's wierd, I thought they blocked Sony Vaio's.

I think they added the OEM protection to the installer as well. I'm installing the 10.7 beta, doubt there's that much difference.

    3-8% for 5900 single

That's only in Borderlands and not across-the-board.

Besides general fixes, I'd say GPU acceleration of VLC 1.1.1 is one of the biggies.

Installed this driver a few hours ago. While playing Plants vs Zombies, the game froze. Reverted to 10.6 and everything is fine now.

Seems to have fixed the sleep crashes I was having. Or atleast, I can't make it crash after putting it into to sleep 15 times.

Why would they be blocked to Sony Vaio's?

Because Sony opted out of the ATI Mobility Radeon Catalyst program, so when the downloader identifies your laptop as a VAIO, it refuses to download the installer. The way to bypass this was to simply get the installer from someone who had downloaded it, so it's weird that ATI is now offering both the installer and the downloader.

It would be better if it is known if DXVA is finally fixed.

Did you use the installer or the DD download? If you used the installer, it probably just updated the control panel and not the drivers, which can cause this to happen.

In all releases. A few releases back, they fixed DXVA for HD video, but broke it for SD video.

And you don't need DXVA for SD Video. For any of the recent CPUs, SD Video won't even use 1%... So I don't think they will ever fix this, just not worth the time.

Good video players like MPC-HC have an option to disable DXVA on SD.

How about for someone who has a single core netbook with the Radeon HD 3200? It still would be better to be able to use DXVA.

Netbooks shouldn't have trouble with SD Videos either... Any computer built in the last 10 years should be fine.

Does it really matter? The fact is that DXVA for SD video is broken.

And, no, the slower Pentium 4s aren't really material for SD H.264 encoded video, but those PCs probably wouldn't have a video card that supports DXVA.

I could run SD H.264 Vids on my pentium 4 desktop, and it runs smoothly, only HD videos are a problem.

    well .....

1- I uninstall the old driver (for me it was the 10.3a)
2- I log on windows in safe mode (hit F8 while the laptop is starting up and choose safe mode)
3- I clear any remaining files from the old driver by using driver sweeper ( you can get it from Guru3D - Driver Sweeper )
4- restart the laptop and log on Windows normal mode and install the driver normally

Pity it's not up on Strags...my Toshiba will have to stay with Mobility modded 10.1. And the Asus is never going to get a driver update, unfortunately.

For ati cards, i just install right over the old drivers as recommended by the driver designer i believe (theres a link somewhere around here)

Unlike nvidia drivers which i use to perform all 4 steps mentioned above.

When i first got my current laptop with a ati card i actually tried it like the nvidia cards but had issues reinstalling.
