I don't believe it needs any modding. ATI just recently added support for Mobility Radeon cards in their graphics drivers. Just try installing it normally. (I don't see any indication that you already tried that )

Should have mentioned that I already tried that. No support for mobility in this one sadly.

^^Using those same ones, BC2 load times are now too short (I have no time to grab a drink and use the facilities between rounds). Only used for last night but they were completely stable.

10.4 Preview does not improve loading times for 4xxx cards in BC2. Sometime next week a new driver will be released that WILL improve loading times for 4xxx cards in BC2.

Yeah been reading that elsewhere also.

Thanks for all the info everyone.

When they release the next preview next week for 4xxx cards, I'm sure it will not work with mobility cards though

Would love to, but they didn't release a mobility package for this preview.

The 10.4 preview and the "10.6 alpha" only boost the load times in DX10/11 for the 5xxx series cards.

They are working on a patch for the 4xxx cards next. Its due out in one or two weeks

If you want you can try to force DX9 it will fix load times for now until the patch. For me it gave visual corruption when I used DX9 but it may not on your card/setup. It will give you a nice fps boost as well.

I am using the newest one the 8.74 drivers they seem stable and also add other cool things like the video converter.

8.74 is the driver version not the catylst version. There is no cat version since its not released but its what I have been calling "10.6 alpha"

Wanted to get this update, then saw that the only change is better loading times for BFBC2 which I seldom play, guess I'll just keep my 10.3 until the official 10.4 driver with better 2D support is released.

    hi guys!
Does the 8.74 version of the driver fix the GSOD (Grey Screen Of Death) issue?
    I'll try it tonight.

wait for the official release, it will install on mobility cards without modding... you won't need to mobilitymod it. a preview is going to be more buggy than 10.3 and/or your manufacturer's drivers anyways.

if catalyst 10.3 isn't working out for you, there might be something wrong with your motherboard/one or both of your GPUS/your crossfire cable

or any combination of those three things.

The 10.5 Betas may be for you Xenn0x. Both Vicious and I use them for BC2 and both of us are among the first to spawn on our maps.

Also the BC2 fixes aren't in the drivers themselves, they are profiles. Even if you are running on 10.3 for example you should spawn faster with the new profile. They also provide some goodies for your XF.

i'm running 10.3+ latest profile patch and the game it selfs runs smooth. just the map loading goes 40 sec+
no hardware problems. just the known map bug. i might try 10.5, only tried 10.6 but that wasnt a succes

10.5 works because you have a 5xxx series card and those are patched. 10.4a is patched for 4xxx series like mine.
but those drivers only desktop version.
i'll just have to wait for official release.

Then something odd is going on. Because the profile is what is supposed to fix your CF issues and the leaked 8.74 fixes the load times.

I'm running the leaked 8.74 drivers and even with forced DX11 and everything on high with HBAO on, I'm getting 45-50 FPS with no graphical glitches.

    Hope you solve your problems.

like i said the beta drivers only have fixes for 5xxx series cards now and not 4xxx.
so it works fine for you but not for me.
i just need to wait till final release and it will be ok. no hardware issues, just drivers.
