Many users have complained of the issue for past 5 months. Try moving your mouse in the top right corner. This is a well documented issue that AMD admits to.

The only solution so far is to disable mouse pointer shadow. But RTS players like SC2, DOTA, HoN report in game the mouse lag is a huge issue with no fix/solution.

huh. This is in game only right, because I don't notice any cursor lag while on the desktop (though I'm also only on 11.2 right now)

What MagusDraco said. No mouse lag on desktop and I didn't notice it in Portal 2 either.

Thanks so much for the direct links, installing now.

Mouse lag in the corner EXISTS, I've had it since forever. It did NOT exist in the 10.11 or something driver.

I'm a frequent Heroes of Newerth player.

Yes when I scroll my mouse in the top right corner the screen lags 3-4 times.

AMD's current fix doesn't really work either lol. it still lags a bit.

Then don't worry about it. It's as if you are disappointed you don't have the issue.

Is it newer and better than the preview from March 23rd? They seem older, since the preview drivers are 8.842 and these are 8.841.

*figures out how to cause the mouse lag*

ah. Well I can see how that could be a problem if you have to use that small area in the corner. Oh well, whatever.

8.842 is actually older than 8.841. The 8.842 was in the March 5th Preview. then it was reverted to 8.841 for the 23rd Preview.

By the way, why is the 99% GPU issue so talked? I mean, it's only 1%, is it that big of a deal? I don't get it...

Or is there something else involved? Should I get these drivers? Will my performance be same, or better/worse, like with 11.1?

The performance should on the level of 11.4 Preview. Also the problem they were complaining was the mouse lagging at the top right corner of your screen.

Would seem you are completely ignorant of what the 99% bug is. If you wonder you could have googled it easily. After gaming or using flash or anything that uses hardware acceleration many users have had their GPU running at 99% usage and it would remain there unless they shut down and restarted.

For those having the mouse lag bug disable the cursor shadows in the mouse options in control panel it helped some people get rid of the lag ... also if you have any in-game mouse options try to miss around with them like changing hardware mouse rendering to software one and such ... hope this helps

Oh, so that's what was going on with my notebook today. I was watching a Flash stream, then my 6970M stayed at max clocks, even on battery. This is only my second day with an AMD GPU, so I didn't know that was a documented issue.

Anyway, I'm going to try this one out. My notebook came with 8.810, which I think is the 10.12 CAT.

do flash vids tend to stutter too? It seems like some youtube vids stutter on my system and its not buffer loading, video is fully loaded and it seems to chock up sometimes, ive summed this up to the uploading quality because other videos run silky smooth.

No problems with GPU assisted flash over here.

My only issue was that hardware accellerated decoding of WMV files when using Windows Media Player 12 would make the video stutter like there was no tommorow. D:
Just disabled it anyways, so that was a easy fix. xD

But XBMC Media Center + DXVA! <3

Doesn't have any effect on my desktop unfortunately, and my Envy's 5830 doesn't seem to exhibit the bug. It's deep in the drivers, not just something relatively superficial with the shadows.

It's supposed to get rid of the lag on your desktop. But in game it's still there. But for gaming it seems only relevant if your mouse is moving to the corners like RTS or DOTA like games. But yeah, hopefully a hotfix or whatever fixes it and AMD remembers that there are mobile users who can use the hotfix.

I'm not sure exactly as to what the 'lag' consists of. Is it general framerate drop? Or just the cursor movement gets laggy and draggy? Also is it caused by the mouse cursor simply being AT the corner? Or do you need to actively scroll while leaving the cursor at the corner to trigger such an event?

Huh, never noticed the lag until today. Not even when playing games haha.

    Interesting.... :D

It's not as infurating as my old nvidia 9500m GS downclocking issue. Now THAT bothersome.

I hope it gets fixed soon, though it doesn't even bother me.

My Desktop gaming rig with an (ATI 6870) and E8500 has never exhibited the mouse lag or 99% GPU bug. Don't know if the Quad or multi-core CPU's were more affected.

I use 11.4 preview and have not noticed the cursor lag issue and I play SC2 every few days and this is both my laptop & desktop.

    both have quad cores.

P.S. @ OP should post change log w/ drivers IMO.

Does that mean if you don't have those cards you'll see no performance gain?Or will you just see the most performance gains with them?

The driver is specifically geared towards optimizingthe 6000 series. Previous generations will see little to no changes.

The 5000 series is very similar, so it could likely see some good gains, but there are no statements specifically about it. Before that, you probably won't see any improvement.

Because almost all of us had the 11.4 preview drivers. And these WHQL 11.4 drivers are the same in performance compared to preview 11.4.

I might update from the preview to these though.

What he said. 11.4 Preview basically gave us the performance you are experiencing a month ago. This is just the Windows-approved version of the same drivers. Good drivers, but most of us has already experienced it for over a month now.

I've been on 11.4 since their preview release. I assume these have some of the kinks worked out. Either way, I haven't noticed any performance gains since 10.2 because most of the games I've run are at 60fps to begin with.

The 11.4 preview driver increased the temps on my laptop by about 15C
This seems to have lowered it a bit.
