Hi im thinking about changing my laptop's processor because it overheats soo easily that i had to undervolt it and i used to play tf2 all high settings but one day the fps dropped in pretty much every single game that i played and changing settings doesn't affect the fps. Will changing the processor this??

Hard to help you if you don't post temperatures.

Honestly, probably not. The 1535 uses the old Intel PM965 chipset, which only accommodates T-series CPU's of 35W TDP and 800MHz FSB. Any processor you switch to will run just as hot, and quite frankly, that laptop's so outdated and limited by the ATi 3450 that you won't see any performance gains.

If I were you, I would check out the Undervolting guide. That should help you drop a few degrees at least. Also, clean out your fan and heatsink fins, they're probably clogged with dust by now.

u must have a lot of dust in ur fan.. blow it out using compressed air... also search for the undervolting guide in the forum and using RM clock , undervolt.. i did that and my temperature dropped by about 20C on idle and load...

As I recall, the Studio 15 has a very capable cooling system; I owned one with the exact same configuration as yours. Overheating shouldn't be a problem unless the heatsink/fan assembly is clogged with dust.

Undervolt that sucker. The fans could probably do with a cleaning as well, and if your warranty is gone you could have a go at reapplying thermal paste.

    ^^ Agreed.

DOAs during custom builds are annoying. I had 3 different parts die in the first week of my desktop's life. First the motherboard went, then a hard drive, finally the front USB ports on my case decided to short out. What's with manufacturers making bad parts these days?

But I've heard so many horror stories about iBuypower. I remember a story where a person had theirs shipped to their house, and the heatsink wasn't fitted properly, and had damaged the GPU, the motherboard, and various other parts within the case because someone hadn't put the heatsink on properly.

    EDIT: Lol, 1001st post.
