I'm just wondering if it's possible to change your video card to something different then what the notebook came with. I have an HP Pavilion zd8000 and it came with a ATI Mobility Radeon X300, tried installing the X700 and X600 but it keep saying "Setup was unable to find components that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software." The only requirements it said was Windows Xp and some other systems. I don't want to buy another notebook because this one is quite new. Also I have tried installing the omega driver but it is still X300. Any help would be appreciated.

...what? How did you try to install the X700/X600? Just the drivers? Your HARDWARE (the actual physical parts) is an X300. You can't install a program to update that. Do you think anyone would be running an X300 if they could just download a program to upgrade it? You can't replace the card in your laptop, either. You're stuck with the machine you have, unless you sell and get a better configured machine. Sorry.

If you are talking about the drivers, then those are the incorrect ones. You need Mobility X300 drivers, seeing as thoigh your ntoebook came with a Mobility X300. HP should have the drivers on their website, and you should also be able to download them from the ATI website.
