I just got a new toshiba a200 th7 which has hypermemory or turbomemory. My graphics card is a ati hd 2600. I noticed a real lack of performance and I think its due to the hypermemory eating all my memory during a game. Can anyone please help me so I can disable the hypermemory all together? Thanks in advance![]()

Ah I see , well then I have hypermemory for sure. I have 2gb of ddr2 pc5300 667mhz running with an intel duo 2 core 1.67ghz. I am also running windows vista ultimate 32bit. I was wondering , if I have pc5300 could I use pc5400 memory cards to upgrade? Also , with a 32bit version of windows vista , will it support 4gb of memory? cheers

Yes, you can use PC5400 memory in that computer. With Vista 32-bit, you'll only see ~3.25GB I believe. I don't know of a way to turn off hypermemory, but it shouldn't cause any drop in performance. What specific problems are you having?

Well when I try to run certain games ie. bf2 , I get really bad fps in game. I know of lower end models able to run bf2 at max settings (which I have with no AA and distance 100%). Though I only get about 15-20fps on those settings. Even on minimum settings I tend to barely get 30fps and it drops down to 25fps during firefights. Oi!

look for new video card drivers, perhaps

Yeah, try the 7.9 drivers.

Tried, still having the same probelms
-
I would try just lowering the settings or resolution then.
-
Well I mean, an HD2600 ati card should be sufficient enough to run at least medium settings at 1024x768 on bf2 right? So does anyone have ANY opinion on what it could be?

Which driver are you using? Toshiba/ATI/Omega Drivers (use the one you aren't using)? Also try using the mobility modder (I think it's called that) to change the desktop driver to one for your laptop. Or how about a BIOS update to allow changing hypermemory? BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT THIS ONE, COULD BRICK YOUR LAPTOP IF POWER CUTS OUT.

Make sure your PowerPlay settings are set to maximum performance on AC power. Updating your drivers as noted is not a bad idea either.
