Hey guys what does your Catalyst Control Center report your driver version to be in the information section?
I did a couple of 3dmark benchmarks and the driver version reports the same version as the previous 5.13's. Freakin' strange as hell, because the Catalyst driver version reports 6.1, but the driver version is 6.14.10.6587.
This is the same as the 5.13's. What the heck is going on here?
I installed the drivers properly because I uninstalled and ran drivercleaner right afterwards. Very strange.

Well, I don't have CCC installed, but when I go into Desktop > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Adapter > Properties, then click Driver, it says my driver version is 8.205.0.0, dated 1/4/06. Interesting.
Did you completely uninstall all ATI software before you installed the new drivers? Because, if you didn't uninstall CCC before you installed the new ones, I don't think it gets updated [the CCC]. -
I get the same thing, through a shorter path
My Computer, Properties, Hardware, device manager, display adapter, driver details.
Anyhoo' I guess the 2d drivers are the same as the previous 5.13's.
Hrmm...notice how Ati AI increases performance in some benchmarks and games while decreasing others? It helps a lot. -
Hi Mike,
Sorry for a delay, but you already got answer. I guess they did only a minor compatibility fix on 6.1. No need to upgrade if you are not affected. 5.13 is stable and faster than former versions and I get a bit lower results with 6.1.
And yes I tested AI a bit, and some games are better, some not. Benchmarks also show the difference. I didn't go too much into the stuff, and left it on balanced.
Sorry again for a delay. I guess America/Europe time difference spoils the conversation a bit.

haha it's okay ikovac.
Yeah I thought it had to do with that, just a minor update for compatibility.
AI is weird, but I just leave it on Standard as well.
Cheers,

Just noticed. Mike, soon you will hit the NUMBER OF THE BEAST! Beware. Or just play some Iron Maiden!

Too many 6es on this thread.
I'm a big fan of Iron Maiden, so this is an unique opportunity to bring this out. It is the beggining of the song The number of the beast on the album with the same name. BTW it is not anything from their lyrics. It is actually the quotation from the Bible - Revelations.
Cheers,
Chazman, iKovac get in here...Catalyst 6.1 driver version?
