I currently have a E1705 Dell that has pretty much been terrible for most of its existence.

I am looking to buy a new laptop without spending too much unnecessary money...want a comparable video card capable of Civ 4

    Any thoughts?

The best you can go for 7900 gs is either 7900 or 7950 gtx.
Thats it and you can easily find it in ebay.
