Hello,
I am the founder of MXM Upgrade. I recently updated the diagnose section of the site, and I have included a little tool to check if your laptop is MXM. However, it has not been tested yet.
The tool and other means of checking your lappie can be found here.
This is a call for help. Firstly, we need to know if the tool works, so: all MXM owners please give it a try and post feedback. There is a prelimenary list of MXM based laptops here. If people post feedback, the table can be updated
Looking forward to your replies,

I tested it, worked fine. No MXM though
All though I did have to change the properties to not close on exit, so I could read what it said. -
Hi Zak,
Thank you very much for your feedback.
To others: there is indeed no pause in the tool. You can solve that by using ZAK's solution, or launch it from the command promtp (RUN -> cmd).

Run under command prompt - No MXM compatability.

Thanks, Ikovac. -
ATI's version is AXIOM I believe

Hmm...I just ran the tool on my KN1, and it claims that there's no MXM compatibility. There's just one problem with this...the KN1 very obviously has an MXM card. In fact, I've seen it myself when I opened up the system. There's a picture of it in my review, in fact. So this is quite an odd result.

It seems it doesn't work. Back to the drawing board I guess.
There's a small chance it'll only work under native DOS, so not in a Windows environment. So, those who have a DOS boot floppy laying around, give it a try! -

I think I have the only AXIOM notebook around . ..
-
Well that would suck then.
You've got something that had potential to upgrade into something that is not supported chazman (but i hear you're happy with what you got!) -

Yeah, its' a bummer for me.
But the good news is that the Clevo M560U (updated M560A, which is what I have) is going to have an X1600, and since it keeps the same design as the M560A, I'm willing to bet it has the same type of AXIOM card in there.

Sorry for delay. Nothing new to report. I reached the top speed and then made a profile that is 10MHz lower for clock and memory. Since then I found the lowest speeds that ati can work on - 60/80 (a record?). It gives me around 30 mins more battery. Now I will make the comparison between the default clocks and undeclocked/undervolted system just to see what is the total gain.
And Ati seems to work very well on nVidia standard MXM cards....
I will try that DOS boot... (I have USB made for that). If someone wants USB DOS bootable memory stick - check my article here:

Thanks Ikovac!
For the others, especially those who have MXM (such as Hitman) follow Ikovac lead. Any other info you might have, such as Rivatuner reports, vBios dumps, Everest dumps,... still welcome.

A looong delay. My fault. And bad news.
I did boot into clean DOS, started the tool and got the same 8680.0000.0000.0000 - no MXM available message. So I guess my notebook is somewhat of a tough case.
Cheers,
Ivan -
Are we ever going to be able to buy MXM cards?
