One of those things i always ment to learn but never got around to, but now i've got spare time on my hands.

Anyone know any good chess games that actually teach you how to play and learn the finesse of the game?

I recommend US Chess Live: www.uschesslive.org. You can download the latest version, you can play online and they have many tutorials to learn chess. I learned the game thanks to this game.

If you want to play against the PC for a few minutes download Pawn 2. It is fun.

The Chessmaster series has commentated tutorials, tests and past games by several Grand Masters. It also has a built in talking robotic voice which will explain your current situation and suggest which moves (yes, moves, not just one) to make etc. if you require help while playing a game. Because of Chessmaster, I managed to win the chess league at my high school.
