Hey guys. It's that time of the year and the wife is on me :)... for a list. Prefer RTS/FPS/Simulations (PC and PSP). I've hashed out some things but figured I would toss it to the board to get all information available. Far Cry 2 was on there but not too sure anymore. Hit me.

Flight Simulator X Gold with an XBOX 360 controller to go with it :)

    Fallout 3 looks promising.

If you are looking for multiplayer FPS, Call of Duty 4 is strongly recommended, even though it is slightly older game. However, it is full of action and speed, and represents one of the best first person shooter in recent years. I haven't played Far Cry 2, but opinion are mainly good, though I have to say that many say Far Cry 1 was much better.

From strategy games consider newcoming Starcraft 2 and slightly older pearl called Company of Heroes.

Yeah, just played through all of Half-Life 2 and its episodes in about a week. Gave Left 4 Dead some thought simply because of the pedigree. MP?

Left for Dead is going to be the highlight of my year...
It looks highly promising and Valve is going to deliver gold mate, trust me!!
I havent really bought any games this year cause nothing has really peaked my interest, except for the as yet unreleased Fallout 3 (dodgy bet, possible greatness but not a sure thing) and Left for Dead, I am a Valve fanboy so take my word !!

    Lol

The whole experience sticks with me a few weeks after playing. The Orange Box certainly lived up to the hype. That was on the b-day list :) Haven't played Mass Effect or Bioshock either. Only played the Bioshock demo and wasn't blown away by the gameplay, although the story is supposed to be great. They seem to split the opinions for different reasons. I tell ya the industry needs to get back on the demo wagon.

Either Rock Band 2 for XBOX 360 or Flight Simulator X Gold with some sort of flight control peripherals.

Do you guys think I would have to have played Fallout 1/2 to get 3?

Negatarino. The game is designed so anyone can play. If you played 1/2 you might have a slightly easier task of understanding the SPECIAL system and the perks etc. And there's also a few references but not enough to make you scratch your head going...I don't get it.

Starcraft 2 and I would say Dead Space but I'll probably buy it next week :)

In a nutshell, no. But the Fallout series does have a rich backstory so if you do ever get a chance to play them I'd recommend it. They are true classics. The turn-based-ish combat system might turn you off though since it does slow things down a bit. There's a website that summarizes the first two games to bring gamers up to speed for 3 but Websense prevents me to link it for you. Do a google or perhaps someone else will provide the linky.

Thanks alot gents. Also may throw Civilization:Colonization into the mix. Played the original and liked it and think the Civ IV flav might add to it, even though I don't think I will ever be able to win at Civ IV.

Yeah, I guess the screen sacrifices real tones for vibrance. In a nutshell I guess the whites look yellow and the rest of the neutral tones are jacked. IGN did a good review of the thing. I'll stick with my 1000 series!
