    Ok I posted a help me find a laptop post a few weeks ago. And wouldnt you know it my kid needs 2000 dollars of dental work. So my budget has shrank dramatically.

    To play the games in the title....could you recomend three cards for me?

    my computer has no problem running aoe 3 full settings.
    not sure about civ 4

    Even an x800 will play those at highest settings.
    Those are fairly basic when it comes to graphics.

    Civ4 should run just fine, I have an Asus W3j which has an ATI X1600 /w 256MB Dedicated. Runs great with everything on max. You just need to have a lot of ram.

    Thanks....So I really have no need for a 7900GS then. Im not really into FPS but I did just order FEAR. I think Im gonna go with the newegg deal. And if I get into FPS i'll just upgrade the lappy next year when DX10 is out.

    Ok so an Asus A8JS (7700) should be able to handle those two games with no problems then. Thanks again everybody

    civ4 is more intensive then you'd think (but really fun :p), but a 7900 GS should be good (its a nice card).
