    I just updated Civ IV by checking for updates in the game, it downloaded and updated to version 1.74 I think, but know every time I try to start the game I get this error (attached Image), what does this mean??

    Have you tried downloading and re-installing the most up to date DirectX 9.0c verision? I've heard of that fixing a similar error in other games.
