I'm not sure if this is the proper forum to post this, but I tried to run Civ IV on my brand new Acer Travelmate 3260 last night, and while the game ran splendidly, it got my computer pretty hot quickly.

I turned it off after 20 minutes or so of play, and I'm curious if I'll be damaging my computer if I continue to play the game.

    thanks in advance

No, its fine, all computers get hot. The only time its dangerous is when you touch it and it burns you and you have to jerk your hand away, then turn it off or get a cooling pad.

Well it depends on the heat. You could Rivatuner to monitor the GPU heat, PCWizard, Everrest, TAT, and other tools to monitor the heat of everything. Then you can check the specs of your parts to see if they stay within safe ranges.
