Who's excited for Civilization VI coming out on October 21 for Windows? I haven't played a civilization game other than Civ I years ago, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the series has evolved five iterations later. Early reviews are mostly favorable, with a broad consensus being that it's better than Civ V (and has most of the content that added to Civ 5 through expansions). The "unstacked" cities seem to be a big hit, though at least one preview I've read suggests playing with the largest map setting to avoid overcrowding throughout the game. There's also a lot of praise for the new builders, leadership agendas, and splitting of the tech and civics trees.
Here are a few in-depth previews:
Civilization 6: The most in-depth Civ to date (Arts Technica)
Civilization VI hands-on: Empire building is addictive and beautiful, but combat is messy (Venture Beat)
Civlization VI (for PC) (PC Mag review with pros/cons)
Civ 6 strategy guide: beginner tips and early game walkthrough (PCGames N)
Being a civ game, the system requirements are unsurprisingly low:

Indeed, here's an article describing the experience playing Civ 6 on an iGPU: How Civilization 6 runs on a laptop with integrated graphics
But it does take advantage of DX12: AMD and Firaxis join forces to turn Civilization VI into a DirectX 12 showcase
Anyone else planning on picking up the game? What are your early impressions of it?

E3 2016 Walkthrough, for those who may have missed it. It's a great overview of what's to come, narrated by Sean Bean.

And man, CiVI looks cartoonish (and lol at Cleopatras animations), kinda looks like a mobile game now, but still fun nonetheless! -
If anyone reading this wants to get early access to the Aztecs civilization, be sure to preorder now! The game is being released this Friday, so there's not much time left. If you don't preorder, you'll still get the Aztecs, you'll just have to wait 90 days after the release to receive it as free DLC. So not a big deal either way. I don't usually preorder games, but I did with this because there's been so many in-depth previews of the game and they're all pretty favorable. (Preloading is also available now.)
Here's the new launch trailer. It's ambiguous, but some are suggesting that Sean Bean's narrator does indeed die in it

Looking forward to it. I got to meet Sid Meier back in 2005 at E3. Nice guy. Over the years, the core of the game hasn't changed much, it has evolved, and still as brilliant as ever. Assuming same with Civ VI.

wow, the trailer does look really great. Not about the game but the idea behind it.
