UPDATE: (Jan 31, 2009)
(sorry for cross post, but the announcement of the mobile Nvidia G200 series should be known)
Clevo D900F - Leaked Detailed Specifications
(thanks to AndrewKW)
Clevo seems to have went with the Core i7, but in doing so... they have pushed back their "Launch Date" to May 2009
.... which would mean that it wont be ready for order by customers until Q4 2009.
That, and if you notice.... they are pegging the Nvidia G280 for this notebook.![]()
So this notebook might not be able to debut at CeBIT 2009 as projected previously.... maybe they can push out a working prototype by March... probably not with Nvidia G280 though. (since Nvidia might not have that card available til summer)![]()

Good god...
-
Aww, too bad there's no triple channel DDR3. Still, depending on if the GTX200 series runs, it'll be a great laptop.
-
Unbelievable.
-
Wow.
10chars. -
OMG! wow! just..wow!
that's one hell of a laptop. does this mean TRUE nvidia next gen gpus will be out in may? -
they mad a typo. wsxga+ is not 1600*1050.
-
Well, I now know what I am saving for! This has brightened up my year... I cannot wait for it!
-
I wish I could have a 17 inch. I can't, so I'm happy with my m15x
-
This thing is a monster...probably gonna break the 20k barrier in 3dmark 06.
-
anyone else still thinks the crossfire 4870 notebooks still have a chance.... ?
-
Haha...you are funny

Wow, that thing is a scary, scary beast.....
Mmmmmm
And think, if you put that thing on your lap while using it, you save a ton of money not having to get that vasectomy.....
To me, that's a WIN/WIN son!
A WIN/WIN! -
i would not worry about heat at all.
the current king (Clevo D901C)... already has the best cooling design to date for any notebook... the D90xF should be just as cool. -
Is the G280 the laptop version of the GTX 280 or something else? It'll be interesting to see how they cool that monstrosity -- the Core i7 alone has a TDP of 130W.
-
-
Nah, the 4870's won't have a chance against the 280's.
-
Isn't the Q9650 already 130W?

Yes I have to agree after actual owning a Clevo system. The have if not the best, one of the best cooling solution for notebook in the market. I've never own a notebook until now with a 9800M GTS idle at ~40C, amazing.
I believe they will figure the way out, can't wait for actual benchmarks to see how close they match up their desktop counterparts. -
HOLY MOTHER GOD OF GOOSE EGGS DUMPING GOLDEN NUGGETS!!
-
the Q9650 has a slightly lower 95w TDP.
but people have and are using the QX9650 in their systems now without issues. -
"the new king", sorry Gophn I guess you havent heard of the OCTITRON
After buying my D900K, their is no way I am ever buying from Clevo again. That was the worst designed laptop I have ever had. After looking at other Clevo models, they are all on the same low end quality level. I would recommend any Dell over a Clevo, the quality is better and the customer service is better.
Just whatever you do never buy from Voodoo, those guys are conartists. They should really be put out of business for all of the crooked things they do
I dont care if you are the owner of Clevo, I will tell you straight in the face that your products are bad, because they are
K-TRON -
My bad, darn X.
-
that should be better.... but as far as commercial notebooks goes... the D900F is it. -
any pics ?
-
My Octitron was running beautiful until some low life broke into my dorm room, stole my memory card and slashed my homemade power supply. Thank god I had my laptops locked up
It ran beautiful for over 2 weeks straight running at 100% load, and it never broke 120F
K-TRON -
I am really guessing it will looks very similar to the current Clevo D901C.
or maybe an updated model to match the upcoming 18.4" Clevo M98xNU. -
-
You can check how real it is,
look up my World Community Grid points, and you will see the insane number of points it brought in

shoot, I was all for upgrading to Asus w90vP and now they'r messing with me. what to pick, what to pick. we'll just have to see how the prices are gonna play out for both.
-
Obviously, specs are awesome, no doubt. I'm interested to see how this behemoth is designed; cooling and power. Will it beat the 4870s? (which seems to be the only thing D9xx fans care about as it's the only other threat to its title) Probably so, but we'll see.
It's interesting though that the G280 will (might) be using GDDR5 according to the spec sheet, as opposed to a higher memory bus, which would require more parts on the board. Q2 2009 will be epic. -
I'm sorry, but who really needs that much power in mobile form?
That said *drool* -
i wish i have money again
-
I think there's a typo on the graphics card. The GTX 280 doesn't use GDDR5. It uses GDDR3.
-
What are they just stuffing in desktop stuff? Last I knew the none of that stuff was anywhere near laptop ready. Even May 09 seems to sketchy/early.
-
Recently:
- D900T... LGA775 / Pentium 4 EE / Intel 915 chipset
- D900K... Socket 939 / AMD Athlon X2,FX & Opteron / VIA K8T890 chipset
- D901C... LGA775 / Core 2 Duo, Extreme, Quad (65nm & 45nm) / Intel P965 chipset
as for it being ready.... its just projected for Launch in May 2009.... not really ready for purchase until months after that... my projection Q4 2009. -
Have you not seen the clevo d900 series? They always stick desktop stuff in it.
-
Yeah they are. Are they going to still have 9800m gtx sli systems available.
I want the 9800m gtx sli not one 280. Just because i have only 3500 dollars to spend on a laptop for gaming. And i bet that the specs with a 280 will be like 4Grand. -
how about led screen & lighting keyboard
-
-
Slightly off topic: Which would be more insane: This, or a notebook with two physical mobile CPUs? Food for thought...
-
No eSATA? 8GB RAM max?
Nice refresh on the CPU and GPU, but come on. -
lol refresh, more like a complete over haul. This is a big step.
-
Red_Dragon Notebook Nobel Laureate
.....wonder is Asus and others have there own version on the way?
-
As far as the 900c you got, it might've just been a bad one. There isn't a company out there that doesn't ship a few duds here and there. I had a Vaio AR670 ( supposedly sony is great quality at a high price ) that didn't last a month, and I had to fight for equally as long to get a refund. That doesn't mean I'm going to come out and say that all Sony products are crap, even though mine was. It was a very beautiful steaming pile that I was glad to get rid of. My 9262 is plain and utilitarian, and continues to run flawlessly. -
I'm sorry K-tron, but you did crazy things to that and expected it to work. You're quite ridiculous to say that Clevo is lower end than Dell when Dell's own company (Alienware) uses Clevo products.
-
Used to use Clevo products.
Now they're using Quanta and Arima. -
Well ok, I don't follow Alienware.
(Really, I'm a DIY desktop guy.) -

I love it when there is a technology overhaul on the scale of the new i7 architecture and GPUs.....
Gets me all tingly!**
** Complete dramatization -
how much do clevo notebooks cost?
