Clevo P170EM with HD7970m issues? pls help

i just got a sager np9170 with the new hd 7970m graphics card and i am having graphical issues with tera. I get shapes/distortions that flash on my screen for a split second. I dont know if i should return the laptop for having a deffective card or if its something else please help. I am repatching the game right now just in case it a game issue

My drivers are up to date from the sager web site

I have not owned a comp in like 6yrs so im kinda nub Is there something that i could use to test my 7970m to find out if its running propperly? the help would be much appreciated.

 

Did you try other games? Benches? (3dmark11, vantage) also do you get artifacts in windows? Try uninstall drivers, driersweaper, reseat 7970m, reinstall drivers. Do not try stress test until you can confirm problem is gone, good luck!

 

I am going to do 3dmark11 after i repatch tera. I do not get artifacts. I have uninstalled and rienstalled the drivers as tech support has advised. I only have one other game and that is diablo 3. i do not have the same issue with that game

You may want to upgrade to 12.7 drivers as well, as Sager/Clevo ones are based on the 12.4/12.5, which are considerably worse an less performing that last official beta.
Based on the feedback around, you need to install them on top of your current drivers.
Just launch the setup, hit customize installation, unthick all the options but leave gpu video driver thicked and proceed with installation.
You need also last CAP profiles from amd, currently 12.7 beta cap1.

Lol sorry I still fight with English from time to time.
I guess you can use "uncheck" or "deselect" in place of that term.
Basically disable the options.
You can get those drivers from Amd, however I advice to get modded 12.7 jun26 drivers instead from Benchmark3d website.

 

will i really be ok installing on top of my sager drivers? why would i not uninstalll them???

 

Because Sager/Clevo drivers cant use directly official betas straight away.
Only way to do so, is to install them on top.
