    Clevo w350stq goes nuts

    My friend bought a new laptop, but it is unbearable to play with that son of a . The sounds coming from his laptop are more similar to a real spacecraft to those in Crysis games. Okay, I understand, gaming and stuff but it starts even when sitting on facebook(by the way, fans go on max even prior any gaming). It doesn't stop from going all-in in terms of fan speed. FN+1 doesn't help to disable it too. It usually stops after an hour. Temps are all below 40C, although HDD0 and HDD1 are over 40, usually lower 50sh.

    You can check if your BIOS and EC are up to date and repaste CPU/GPU if you haven't done so yet. The best solution would obviously be someone doing a custom BIOS/EC mod to change the fan behavior. One of those mods solved this problem for my laptop. Unfortunately the W350ST mod is not available, but the modder said it might "come in due time."

    Prema mod has stock 302 version BIOS .. As well as his nodded BIOSes.. es.. es. Don't have that model myself but concensus is his modded fan profiles are fixed if not in the stock 302 ver also.
