I'm amazed so many people liked this guy. Other than Activision, he optimize what I find disheartening about large gaming studios. Cliffy's priorities are creating an IP that the company can milk off of for years without much innovation, and answering to investors. I've seen a few of his talks and he just comes off of as a d-bag, a massive one.

Am I the only one who thinks this guy believes gamers are idiots who need everything simplified? That we can't handle jumping, GoW, Bulletstorm etc. Anyone else think the games he worked on aren't that great? Sure Bulletstorm was fun, but is it great? Nope. Unreal Tournament? Not really, it's about as impressive as MW3. GoW? For PC that was atrocious, one of the worst ports ever. The dude was designing shooting games and had no idea what recoil was for a while.

Well I just hope now that he's gone, Epic might actually make a game that is decent and not just some pop garbage to milk more money off of their IPs. Maybe do something interesting.

UT had a pretty big following back in the day. It was more like CS or DoTA something in that it required a lot of skill and practice to actually be good at the game, not easily accessible like CoD is. I don't particularly like or dislike him, but if you look at the reviews, the consensus is that he made games that were pretty good.

Cliffy is a cool dude, I used to enjoy his cat pic blog back in the day. And fyi UT requires skill to get good at, maybe not as much as quake but it was up there.

Cant stand the guy, took GOW off the PC.

Although it was a gash port, would have liked to have finished the trilogy.

I really liked the first UT, didn't really know or care who made it. I played that game with my buddies all through high school. The newer UTs aren't that good, but the first one was great. Gears is ok as well but each one is a very short experience. Besides, why would I hate someone just because of that? It's not as if he's a genre-destroying jerk like Michael Bay. I HATE Michael Bay.

I think you meant epitomize, not "optimize".

Don't worry, Michael Bay loves himself more than enough to make up for every single person who hates him lol....
