Heya, im currently running on an Alienware m9750 with the following specs
2.16 processor
2 7950 GTX's in SLI
2 gigs of ram
Windows XP
167.46 Alienware Beta Drivers
Using AFR2 in SLI.
I have heard of quite a few people running Call of Duty 4 on their laptops with 7950 GTX(s) and getting smooth framerates while everything was cranked up to the max, even at 1920x1200 resolution!
I on the otherhand, cannot seem to get a steady 60 frames per second with everything cranked up. Im running at 1400x900 resolution on the call of duty 4 demo. On the first level in single player, my framerate seems to stay within 25-35 frames per second while there is any action going on, and skyrockets to the 90-100 area when there is nothing going on.
Long story short, is my FPS in this game correct with the setup im using?
Also, what do you get in Call of Duty 4 for framerates when there is alot of action going on, and what settings are you using?
Also, I have Dual Cards Enabled in the settings.
And, this is the pre-release demo.

lol you was dreaming about 60 FPS??
you can get 50 alright, just update your driver, download the last SLI hotix , with that hotfix oly you get 5 FPS more
-
Desktop: MAx settings 4xAA 1920x1080, 91FPS, never goes below, never goes above, so I'm shure the game has an FPS lock at 91FPS.
Sager 5791: 1440x900 max settings 55-80fps
I'm not shure, mabe it's the demo just not allowing SLI, but I'm shure you should be doing better than that!
Try checking your FPS with SLI on vs SLI off. -
Well the thing is we dont have SLI configured well, otherwise we kill games easy xD
-
btw you dont have AF on?...
-
Nope, no AF on.

Try using the 169 drivers and see if they help:

Sometimes updated drivers can fix a lot of things. -

On the demo i got everything high settings res 1280x1024 inside bulidings well in the 150 range , outside about 80fps average.

strangely my desktop with a 7900 gt runs better at 1440x900 normal than my 8600m gt, but during action, it runs worse than the 8600m gt, even with a very low resolution.
-
that's definitely not strange lol
-
it's strange that the 7900 gt is beat by the 8600m gt in fighting sequences, at the same resolution or below. Example:
Fighting: 7900 gt- 15 FPS, 8600m gt 25 FPS both at 1280x800
Not fighting 7900 gt @1440x900-30-40 FPS, 8600mgt @1280x800- 25-30 FPS
(the 8600m gt is OC'ed to 580/445) -
i play at 1280x720 res and get around 50 fps idle, 30 fps in action.. but about the fps being capped, have u tried typing /com_maxfps 125 (or higher) into console? i use 125 as it seems good for trickjumping into spots ur not supposed to go
... but yeah, the fps is capped at 85 on stock settings...
-
Right now I'm out, but when I'm back i'll test it on my desktop, It would be nice to know just how high it really is going.. -
the guy with no AF, i get 40FPS with AF x16...
