    Huy guys

well im playing my first ever FPS game: CoD WaW and i have to say im loving it, really fast paced varied mission objectives, very nice sound effects and of course the graphics are also top notch, dont play it online but have convinced my friend to buy it so we can do the co-op campaign together.

only really played RPG's and TBS/RTS games in the past, but am glad to have given this a chance, thinking of going out on monday to buy bioshock, had ordered the orange box but decided against it and cancelled the order (was worried i couldnt handle the out dated graphics).

anyway i definately recommend CoD WaW if people are in the market for a good FPS.

I really hate those dogs... tried it on PS3, not a fan of those series (3,5)

CoD4 on the other hand is out of this world!!!! 100x better than CoD5.
    You should try CoD4.

Online is great. You do not need to know anyone to do it. Just pick a server and get in. You get to level up your character which is really cool!

Outdated graphics?? The games in the Orange Box have some of the most beautiful visuals I've ever seen, especially Half-Life 2 Episode Two. The Source Engine is just a fantastic game engine all around. Definitely buy the Orange Box! And the games should run notably smoother than Call of Duty: World at War.

If you like CoD: WaW so much, I recommend you try Call of Duty 4. It uses the same game engine, but it was developed by Infinity Ward instead of Treyarch, and I think it's a much better game all around.

ok if thats the case my local store has orangebox for $20 ill go pick it up monday.

yeah ive heard lots of good things about CoD4 and most of them to do with the online factor, i wont be playing games online for the forseeable future (study in india and broadband is difficult to get where i am) so i dont really think i want to spend casjh on a game that only has a short single player campaign.
    Thanks for the suggestions though.

20 bucks for orange box is amazing. And don't let its age fool you, the Source engine has some of the best graphics to date, and their games only got better looking as they went on, look at Team Fortress 2 or Episode 2, Portal is awesome, too bad its so short :(

    Good call! :D
Call of Duty 4's single player campaign is just as long as World at War's, and I think it's better. As far as I'm concerned, CoD4 beats World at War in pretty much everything except co-op, because it doesn't exist in CoD4. :p

oh that hurts my mate brought WaW today and we just finished a 2hr co-op lan............WOOOHOO how much fun is it playing with mates...i love it, its a shame CoD4 doesnt have co-op as we dont have broadband so co-op is the only option for team games.

can anyone recommend a great FPS that does have co-op function?
    Thanks

COD 4's campaign is actually pretty long, and much better in my eyes. Play that bad boy on veteran and you'll be playing the campaign for quite a long time. :)

Unfortunately, co-op in PC shooter games is a relatively new thing.

I know Gears of War for Windows has online co-op, although it's third-person, not first...still, an excellent game.

If you have Half-Life 2, there's a 3rd party mod called Synergy which lets you play the game in online co-op.

i am really enjoying the single player campaign in WaW, i love how it takes you and puts you into the shoes of acouple of different fractions, really intetested to see weather the story is able to tie to 2 together in any way?

ill definately be thinking of a new FPS when i go to buy a notebook cooler tomorrow, hmm and maybe try to pick up the new RTS men at war.....hmmmm oh well looks like i could be spending abit of cash tomorrow lol.

Call of Duty 4 also lets you play from the point of view of 2 different armies. Heck, for that matter, so do all the previous Call of Duty titles. :p

For the record, the two simultaneous plots you take part in in CoD4 tie together and interact, very unexpectedly, but it's so much fun. I'm not going to say anything else to avoid spoiling it for ya.

I like the modern wars rather than old story of world wars like cod1,2,3,5. Everything same rather than graphics. GOW was also best but no GOW anymore so it kind a sucks.

looks like tomorrow could hurt my bank balance alittle, orangebox, CoD4, men at war and a notebook cooler.

that will mean ive brought 12 games in 3months but hopefully they will last a full year.

Try patching the game. If that doesn't work, uninstall it, and do a complete reinstall. Then try patching it again.

Otherwise, give us more information on the error you are getting. Does it say anything special when you try to launch it? Or does it just say that it stopped working?

It says it has stopped due to a error, I did find listed in Logs
Code C0000005, C with six zeros & 5 , for every time I launched the Game
also do I get the patch from Activision?
    Thanks a bunch!

You should be able to find the patch here:
    http://www.callofduty.com/intel?category_id=18

Also, try looking at this site. It may have something to do with your sound:

Hope this helps. If there is anything else, don't hesitate to ask.

I hate Call of Duty:World at War except for the Pacific parts.I think that the major reason Call of Duty 4 is so awesome is the fact that it's something other than World War II, I for one was suprise Call of Duty interface and gameplay actually worked so well for modern warfare. No doubt it also has a great story, they only thing I dont like is the smaller maps in multiplayer.
