I recently started playing CoD4, and im not sure if i am having a problem or not. But during some maps when i am inside a building and looking out the background on the outside is almost pure white and i can barely make out large objects let alone other people. i have a Toshiba X205 with 8700GT 1.8ghz 2gigs of ram. I have turned everything off and ran at lowest resolution to see if it would help. Currently i am running at 1400x900 and highest settings i get decent framerates normally Avg. about 37-40 on a 32 person server. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

reduce the brightness?

Have you updated CoD4 to the latest patch? Have you updated your graphics drivers?
-
i have the same laptop as you and never experienced anything like that. try updating your drivers or doing the patch if you haven't yet.

Yes i have the 1.5 patch latest one out have tried OEM driver and 2 other sets of drivers from laptop2go. Brightness turned almost all the way down, and its still washed out. If i can ill try and post a Screenshot once i get home. Not sure what else to do but maybe send back to toshiba. I wish i could explain it better but kinda hard without seeing it. To me it's white washed. To those who play CoD4 its really noticeable on Maps Vacant,Crossfire, and Pipeline

actually its the way the game is supposed to look if you have the proper drivers. Its like when you are inside a building and you look outside to a bright sun, it will be hard to see, but as you move outside the vibrance is reduced. This is how the game was intended to be, photorealistic to ambient light.
