I'm unable to join any server for mutiplayer. It give the error of "Key in use. Please try again later."
Any ideas what maybe causing the problem? I have already installed the 4 patches.

    It can't validate your CD-Key.

When I verified the key, it was valid. I thought that would be fine.

Well, if it's not an original CD-Key, then it's possible somebody is currently playing with the same CD-Key. If it's the original CD-Key from the CD, then email Activision and see if they can send you a new CD-Key.

Anyways, sorry I asked because we don't discuss illegal things here.

Perhaps you had given the game to a friend to borrow and as they installed it using the cd-key, and whenever you want to play online, they are playing instead so ask your friend to uninstall the game so you can play whenevr you want to play.

If you are totally sure that your CD-KEY is safe then its a bug, a well known bug. Everytime you connect to a server the master server verifies your CD-KEY and it knows when your are connected to a server so that no one else can use your CD-KEY at the same time. However sometimes once you disconnect, the master server fails to notice that you have disconnected and still has the CD-KEY registered as if you were in the server giving you the key code in use error when you try to join another server. Usually if you wait 10-30 minutes after the error, you will be able to connect once again. Its most likely that bug, and no one has stolen your CD-KEY.

Happened me one night, was very frustrating - had a whole night of COD4 planned, and couldn't play until the next day.

Has anyone else tried going back to BF2 after COD4? I used to be addicted, but it's just so....poor compared to COD, especially considering the totally similar theme and visual style. I couldn't bear more then 2 minutes. Same with COD2. While it still looks fantastic, just not as fun to play.
